Scared to Drive. Need advise on night driving
I was driving at night near Mehrauli, Delhi on the Mehrauli Gurgaon Road. There was a slight bend on the road as it approaches Andheria More. I was driving on the right lane, at 45-50kmph. The speed limit is 50 kmph. A car driving on the fast lane on the opposite side, had its high beams on which totally blinded me. I totally saw my vision go black.
At the same time, that very second I heard my wife who was in the passenger seat scream, "Watch Out there is a cycle'".
Here was a man on a cycle driving along the right (fast lane for cars). I had to swerve left and right back again to avoid the cyclist and the traffic at my left.
I am very much shaken by this incident. If my wife wasn't there I am pretty much sure I could never have known there was a cycle and would have hit him.
I am a relatively new driver. It's been just 7 months. I wanted to know if there is anything that I can do against high beams. I do try to not look at them directly but in this case I don't think it was possible.
I don't believe Indian police would give a rats ass about what happened and would have been framing charges within an hour.
Are there any glasses, spects, any accessory on windshield that can help with high beams while not compromising on regular viability?
Any safety tips that can be given.
