Knafeh Question

Hello everyone,

Not middle eastern at all, but I’m here because there is a place I love to eat at in my area, I believe owned by Egyptians but definitely middle eastern.

They serve this Knafeh there that I LOVE and I dream to learn how to create it myself (love to bake). In my early research, I’m only seeing recipes with cheese. I’m fairly certain the one I tried is more of a custard with no cheese. Am I mistaken? How can I find the recipe for the version I’ve tried?
