CarPlay Install
Installed the RoadTop wireless CarPlay this weekend. It works great! Everything works great, although I did have an issue where Bluetooth did not connect, so I had to do so manually (no big deal).
So far so good. Very happy with the results.
I followed this video for the install in my 2015 REX https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4eQndkPOfM&feature=youtu.be . It went pretty easy, the video was a great help.
A few tips:
- The door jamb molding will come off easier if you slide towards the front (see video @ 7:03)
- If you push on the screw covers from the side they tend to just pop out. easier than using a knife (see video @ 4:10)
- There is a notch in the bottom of the great Styrofoam, if you loosen the cable will fit under. (see video around 13).
- Fish the cable from the screen towards the glove box, not the opposite. (see video around 19:40) There are clips that hold the cable that slide off pretty easily. Release these first.
- As he says in the video, the unit will sit on the fuses under the glove box.
- Set the button for Aux like he does in the video. This way you can listen to the radio and still have CarPlay going and switch sound back and forth.
