How do you deal with unnecessary guilt?
I tend to feel a lot of guilt over things I shouldn’t feel guilty about (or not this level of guilt). And I am also a people pleaser. So when I can’t make someone happy and have to break bad news, I feel a lot of guilt (like it’s my responsibility); and this intensifies if they share how displeased they are. My stomach churns, my hands shake, and I feel emotionally upset and scared. How do I overcome this or how can I deal with this? I’ve heard excessive or misplaced guilt is common for us and I just want to know how to deal with it. I know logically I shouldn’t feel this way and it’s physically uncomfortable. Any advice???
