Follow up book to CODE by Charles Petzold?

Hi, I just finished CODE by Charles Petzold and I absolutely loved it. I occasionally had a hard time getting through some chapters, but I think it had more to do with me not being a native English speaker and some of the lingo just being unfamiliar. What I really liked about this book, was that it was meant to just be read. You don't need your computer next to you and follow along some code like in the regular "Learn Python Data Science" (or the like) books. I was able to read it on my commute to work etc.

So back to my question: Are there any other books on the topics of Comp Sci that are meant to just be read and more so used to understand the concept of a topic rather than being a tutorial? Or a book on the different concepts of Comp Sci in general that would make a nice follow up to CODE?
