We had a rough night
This may have been my fault.
A week ago I bought a 10 gallon aquarium that still had 4 community fish in it. A neon tetra and three harlequin rasbora.
The harlequin rasbora were always suffering from some sort of bloat, but behaving normally. I'd been keeping things clean, doing 20% daily water changes and kind of hoping things would remedy themselves.
I tried to make too many changes at once. Today, in an effort to cycle the tank, I added a cap full of Seachem Stability, changed the ratty old Aqueon filter with Top Fin filter media and added an alder cone. My husband and I then went out to dinner and come home with only the neon left alive.
I'm really disappointed. I knew the chances of them all surviving wasn't great, but having them all go in one night, immediately after I made changes makes me feel really inept.
I'm going to continue cycling the tank. Try to keep my lone neon alive. Hopefully I'll have better luck after it's fully cycled.
